Here
is a list of the assembly plant codes corresponding
to
the VIN (vehicle identification number or serial number) of your
classic
Chevrolet.
The
VIN can be found on a small aluminum tag under the front floor mat
on
the passenger side of your car.
(Note:
sometime in the 1950's they changed from #'s to alpha (letter) codes
for
the assembly plants.)
In the 1930's and 1940's, the first digit of the VIN was:
